Dress: Random // Scarf worn as turban headband: Vintage // Heels: Loeffler Randall
  Photos by: Temoc Gonzalez

Just got back from Pittsburgh late last night from working on a fun photoshoot! So
I'm a bit behind on things; but excited that the weekend is finally here.
Threw on this easy comfy dress a couple days ago and saw this vintage scarf as I was out running
out the door and decided to wear it as a headband-
worked out great since I'm trying to find alternative ways to wear my hair.

have a wonderful weekend,

Blouse: from Nordstrom // Skinny cargos: Free People // Bag: Vin Baker // Sandals: DKNY // Nail polish: Essie Sand Tropaz (fave color!!)

Yesterday's outfit consisted of a spring look that took me
from visiting showrooms to driving up to Long Beach to run errands to getting a facial
- the weather was a bit gloomy but the sunshine
peeked through a few times during the day which was nice.

These cargos bring back so many memories because they were
one of the first pieces in my wardrobe that I wore to actual start doing "outfit posts" on my blog...
couple years later, I still have them in my wardrobe because well...how could I not?
Gotta run,

Hi everyone!
Sorry for being MIA and not posting yesterday- was a bit busy traveling. I'm
currently in NYC working on a campaign that I'm excited to share soon!
Feels so good to be back here- especially because it's NOT during fashion week. I get
to enjoy the city a lot more this way... tomorrow I have a free day so I'm so excited
to wander around the city and do a little bit of sight seeing, shopping + eating.
Do you guys have any cool restaurants/shops that I should check out?
Would love to know!
xx

A New York Minute.

A few shots from yesterday's outing- New York has been so much fun and I honestly always
fall in love with it every time I visit..

My free day yesterday meant a lot of walking (hence the switching shoes to my fuchsia flats) and
a lot of sight seeing/picture taking/eating and shopping!
Tomorrow I have to work so not sure how much I can keep exploring but Sunday will be a half day, so I'm excited to continue my stay in NYC.
Hope you guys enjoy,
xx

Explored all of lower manhattan, soho, meatpacking disctrict, greenwhich village and times square this day! Ended up being such a gorgeous day in weather so this look definitely was perfect!
Switching from my leopard pumps (which you guys had so many questions about in my New York Minute post...they're from Madewell) to my fuschia flats was something I had to learn from
past nyc experiences- you get too much walking done here! I'm not really used to that
since I drive everywhere in L.A, but I loved the change of pace!

I could live in this kind of outfit everyday just 'cuz it's so laid back chic... and sparkly!
Heading back to L.A right now..see you in bit with more nyc photos!

I'm back in LA.. and I'm so happy to be back home
but a big part of me still misses NYC.
Anyway, on this day I had to work again so my time was limited to the evening only.
Once I was free from working, we headed towards Soho to hang + shop!
Did a lot of walking as we watched the sunset go down into the beautiful city view. We then
walked and walked some more until we couldn't take it anymore.

As the night went on, we headed to Chinatown + Little Italy for some grub- best, most authentic
Italian food I've had!
Thank you guys for your recommendations...wasn't able to check everything out but will do so
on my next NYC visit!

Remember to always DREAM and BIG!
0h and...
I've been loving my hair in a messy ponytail lately!

So excited to share these photos because they were for a fun feature in Cosmopolitan for Latinas magazine-
May issue  (their first issue ever for Latinas!!)
I get asked all the time what nationality I am, and often get mistaken for being from
 the Phillipines!
(what was your first guess?)
Truth be told, I'm 100% latina... I was born in Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, CA all of
my life. (Yes! I speak fluent spanish!)
I'm so flattered to be included in the Cosmopolitan for Latinas issue as I am so proud of
being latina and of my roots. It's really inspiring to see latina girls doing what they love and
getting recognized for it- it's time we change how the world sees minorities; whether its
through fashion, politics, culture or anything!

Anyway, in the issue, I talk about what a typical day for me consists of-a lot of running
errands, emails, meetings, shipping orders, events, etc.
Make sure to pick up a copy- don't worry, it's in English!

We stayed at the Standard hotel in NYC and I have to say, it's been my fave hotel by far.
The room was a lot more spacious than other ones I've stayed in before; so that was a major plus.
The location was also pretty cool since there were so many things around to do...ahem, like shopping!
A couple nights we walked a few blocks to the Jane Hotel to grab some drinks and dance the night away... Major fun!

As for this look, well.. I just threw on this awesome cardi that's been on rotation as of late to add
extra color- wore this for a quick bite before we headed back to rest and change looks for the night.

Happy Thursday,
xx

Strawberries were the perfect Sunday treat! So refreshingly goooood...
and it totally complemented my bold color outfit too!

For all those who asked about the see-through clutch in my last post-
I bought it in Lil' Tokyo in L.A (in a Japanese bookstore) for about $12.

We've come to rely on our phones for just about everything: emails, GPS, reminders, to-do lists, alarm, texts, social media updates, conference calls, picture taking, video recording, Siri..
I mean, the list goes on and on. I'm the first to admit that I'm always on my phone-
well most of the time... work related more than half the time
but at times I wish life was much simpler without phones. We sometimes forget the littlest things like
how to pick up the phone to say "hi, i miss you" instead of texting it or we forget how to write
a nice handwritten letter or thank you note instead of expressing it via text or email.
Phones + technology can be addicting- trust I know; instagram? pinterest? texting much?- but I don't think we should lose touch with being in touch the ol' fashion way.

I know, I have a hard time remembering to stay off my phone when I'm with my loved ones while at dinner or enjoying a get together sometimes...but I've learned that enjoying that moment and giving
whoever you're with your full attention WITHOUT being on your phone, will be a memory you
won't forget...
so think about the next time you're out with friends, family, boyfriend or someone you care about and
try to NOT touch your phone once until you get home..
you'll remember that moment completely.

xo
Sorry for the rambling- just thought of that when I was putting together this post. Real topic!
Thoughts?

I've been enjoying going to the beach quite a lot lately.... it's such an ideal place to shoot-
it's always one of my faves.
This time I stayed away from the normal "pretty" looks like florals, neons, hats, dresses, etc. for the beach and went for a cool nautical look with the stripes + red lips instead. Likey?

I've also been "hiding" my bangs lately- still indecisive whether I should grow them out or not,
so I'll just have fun trying out different things in the meantime.

Loved what everyone had to say about yesterday's topic; I couldn't agree more with you all.
Let's definitely try and keep that in mind and practice how we feel.

In other news, beyond flattered to be featured on WhoWhatWear yesterday for their May Style Stalker! Ahh- kinda a big deal... for me atleast.
Check out the feature here ( with a cute Q&A).
Thank you WWW- heart you guys.

My Mother's Day was spent at the Rose Bowl checking out furniture, vintage clothes, and drinking refreshing drinks (like watermelon juice, pineapple and lemonade!).
Was a little bummed I wasn't able to celebrate Mothers' Day with my mom this year;
she is out on a little break in Mexico with my dad...
but fortunately, I was able to celebrate it with her on Thursday (may 10) which
is Mexico's Mother's Day!

Anyway, hope you guys had a beautiful Mother's Day with your loved ones.
