Yay! Beauty post!- Finally! Above are my fave make-up products I use for everyday wear.
When it comes down to my make-up, I like to stick to a certain look that fits my everyday.
I don't really like to take risks or try new make-up looks because
I'm not one to really wear eyeshadow or falsies everyday plus with my
laid-back style, it allows me to wear something more subtle.
I'm a big fan of using both inexpensive, drug store make-up
and higher end brands- it's all about that balance!
My daily make-up routine consists of emphasizing my eyes, cheeks and brows.
FACE: I alternate between wearing foundation and powder depending on my mood. For the most part I wear a foundation powder as my base.-
To prep my face, I start with using a toner after washing my face. Right now I'm into Lush's Tea Tree Water toner- I either spray it all over or use a cotton ball to apply.- After, I prime my face using Hourglass mineral primer- this helps prep the foundation but also makes your make-up look a bit more flawless.- I apply my Two Faced foundation to help even out my skin and add concealer for my under eyes and blemishes only.- I then add a little bit of my Laura Mercier powder to help set in the foundation with a sephora brush- Tip: Carry a translucent powder to touch up through out your day like Make-Up Forever's HD high definition powder- it matifies the skin without changing it's natural contours; DON'T touch up with more powder because you're just piling up more make-up.READ THE FULL POST AFTER THE JUMP... click more on the bottom left. CHEEKS: I'm such a blush junkie- I have a million blushes and always mix
two to get the right shade (try it!).
- I start with a bronzer to help define my cheekbones and after add my blush
on the apple of my cheeks. I use MAC's Prism blush and Maybelline's Dream Mousse blush in 25 (similar here) gives me a pretty glow.
EYES: I always wear eyeliner- whether it's winged, pencil, liquid, smudged...
I mean you name it.
- I start at the outer corner of my eyes and work my way inward. I usually start with a
liquid liner and go in with a kohl pencil liner over it to give it a less harsh look.
- For a dramatic look (since I don't do eyeshadows) I like to smudge liner at the bottom
lid close to my lashes with Rimmel's Spark it Up liner in 610. (similar here) - Tip: Try staying away from black liquid eyeliner for day looks- it's too dramatic.
Stick to a brown liner; it's more natural and youthful.
BROWS: My brows are a big part of my make-up routine. I have very thin &
light colored brow hair so I always fill them in to make sure they look defined.
- First, I don't tweeze my eyebrows. I find that tweezing can be addicting and you always
end up over tweezing and having thinner looking brows plus it's hard keeping
up with them yourself.
- I thread my eyebrows instead- looooooooooove this! Highly recommend! Threading
isn't painful and the result lasts about 2 weeks. Brows that are threaded have a far
better look to them- they look clean, well groomed and the shaping looks always amazing.
- I fill in my brows with a brow pencil ( Anastasia ) in brown and use a brow comb to comb them into place.
- I use the liner lightly and go over my brows about 2-3 times to get to the shade
I like- make sure you use gently strokes so that you don't get any harsh lines.
LIPS: I love soft, rose looking lips- nothing too crazy, just pretty enough to make my
lips have a nice tint.
- I'm crazy about Laura Mercier's HydraTint in Berry tint and Rose tint- it gives me the perfect shade of pink/berry lips.- I also use and love, NYC's lipstick in Violet Shine 319*The last photo includes some other products I use and love:
Evian facial spray- I spray this on a couple times a day to keep my make-up
looking moisturized and fresh through out the day, perfect for on the go and it's small to
fit in your purse!
Josie Maran- It's so important to protect our skin, including our face. I use this to
moisturize my face and it has SPF 40+ protection... it smells good too!
YSL Shocking mascara- For years, I've had a hard time finding a great mascara...
I had tried expensive and inexpensive ones and none ever made my lashes
stay curled. Finally, I found 3 that I haven't been able to stop using. Dior show,
Maybelline's Lash Discovery and YSL Shocking mascara!
Two Faced Foundation- Gives me the perfect amount of even-ness and coverage
without looking heavy. It's light and easy to blend.
L'Oreal H.I.P cream eyeliner-perfect creamy liner that glides so smoothly! Love!
