Fashion's Night Out with Paige Denim

Yay! Can't believe it's already FASHION'S NIGHT OUT! Wowsers. Time flies.
Anyhow, super excited to partner up with one of my favorite brands, Paige Denim, as I will be hosting FNO (Sept. 6th, from 6-7pm) in LA with them! I would absolutely LOVE it if you can join me in celebrating this fun night at their Robertson Blvd. location!

Paige will be releasing a new denim style online each hour starting at 7pm EST the night of FNO... stay tuned and also, FUN contest!

Can't believe FNO came and went already!
Yesterday's FNO with Paige Denim was a total success and sooo much fun! 

I styled 3 mannequins earlier in the day (yesterday) which were part of a window display that was going to be unveiled at 6pm. It was fun to see my take on the newest Paige Denim pieces and how I would style them- i wanted to keep each look!

It was very sweet to meet many of you- thank you to everyone who came out to support!
There were some fun entries on instagram that hash tagged their photo with #uniquelypaige of them wearing Paige Denim jeans, I've picked my favorite to win some Paige jeans!

Fashion Week is in full gear and with so many things to do (shows, parties, events, meetings, etc.), it's hard to 

Anyway, went to the Rebecca Minkoff show the day that I arrived on Friday; I was so excited to attend because she always puts on an amazing collection and show! I was even more excited because I got to wear Rebecca Minkoff, head to toe (well..minus the heels), to the show... what was even more exciting was that I was lucky enough to wear her Haim jacket (pictured above) that walked the runway that evening!! Ah!! 
What was cool about wearing that jacket was that it was available at 
Shopbop to purchase right after the show was over!! Pretty amazing, huh?

Glamour Live with Diet Coke party.

These iced buckets were everywhere! Made me so thirsty just by looking at them.

Last week, I was invited to the anticipating Diet Coke x Glamour magazine party- Glamour Live- held at the super cool location The Box. It was my first event/activity to kick off NYFW and it was a great way to start it and celebrate Diet Coke's new can design.
A performance by Joy Formidable definitely made the night that much more memorable and buckets full of iced diet coke cans all around the party made it easy for you to dance the night away and grab a soda anywhere in the party to stay cool and hydrated!
 It was so much fun to see a bunch of my blogger friends, dance and catch up...
definitely a night to remember with Diet Coke, Glamour and good company!

For this day, I decided I wanted a super laid-back but cool look, no heels for me! I had been dying to
wear this amazing spiked jacket from UNIF so I thought I'd pair it with this pretty, almost ballerina-esque dress by Cameo for that unexpected balance! 
Since it was really hot out, my girl Jadene hooked me up with this braid bar around my hair!
(So lucky she was able to come with me; she's my hair/makeup girl/bff)
Totally love how it softens up the jacket a bit... plus it kept me cool during the hot crazy weather!
.... and I was off to Lincoln Center to see the Herve Leger show!

Most of my days during nyfw consisted of wearing flat shoes- boots, sneakers, etc- except at night when there were tons of parties to go to and required less walking. I was worried that I would have to wear heels all the time (you get that assumption just because its fashion week) but for this season, all I wanted to be was comfortable. I learned from my past fashion week visits how to pack more lightly and  how to incorporate more flat shoes into my looks. So my current fave boots came in handy!

This gorgeous embroidered dress was the perfect piece for a day full of showroom visits and meetings- decided to skip all the shows!

New York definitely brings out the inner cool/sporty in me more so than LA.
Seemed like most of what I wore throughout my stay, was really sporty chic... made it
easy and comfortable for me!

this Joie jacket was the perfect pop of color to anything I would throw on.. can't wait for fall to arrive
to get more use out of it in LA.

After all the madness from last week during NYC, it was really good (and refreshing) to do my normal, day-to-day things back at home. One of my fave things that I couldn't wait to do while I was in NYC, was visit and hang by the beach. The California girl in me definitely comes out when I'm by the beach!
One of my bff's came to visit me and we decided to spend the whole day catching up, having Mexican lunch and margaritas + doing a little damage at shopping. We later decided before we left to 
take a stroll by the pier and get on the rides. The ferris wheel ride was my fave, the beach view was incredible!

California, I missed you.

Less is definitely more. In this case, a simple silhouette and all black everything ensemble did the trick for me the other day.. made me feel uber cool; just topped it off with dainty jewelry for a delicate look.

The most classic staple in my closet- the button down shirt! Probably one of my most favorite items to wear because they're easy and so versatile. They easily transition from day to night or from work to play time just by switching out your bottom! 
I always like rollin' up my sleeves for that extra detail or tucking a part
of the front shirt into my jeans... those little details totally make a difference for me.

Now, I'm off to run some errands and do some work..
in the meantime, tell me what's on your mind!

A few detail shots of the second half of the Fall delivery for Alpinestars by Denise Focil lookbook I worked on earlier in the year;  you can see the first half of the photos here.
The collection itself was pretty versatile- you can pretty much mix n' match many of the pieces (which is always a plus for me!) and the color palette of blues, browns and neutrals made it
really easy to work into any existing wardrobe.

Greetings from Maui! 
It's been a super relaxing 4 days so far- feels good to be away from it all; you know to be (kinda) disconnected from technology/social media and really just enjoy life, family and nature. 
Definitely much needed vacay after a crazy fashion week.

The people are so warm and welcoming, the weather is of course breathtaking, the views are beyond words and I absolutely love how loooooooooong the days feel here. 
I've been too busy enjoying my stay with my family that at times the last thing I wanna worry about is taking photos for the blog... sometimes you just gotta put the camera down and enjoy the moment, you know?
Anyway, will be here 'till the weekend so hopefully I'll be able to capture a few more moments.
In the meantime, enjoy some of Maui through these photos...
oh and I'm obsessed with the shave ice here!

Bold in Maui.

While in Hawaii- all you felt like wearing were your most favorite summer staples ( comfy tees, cut off shorts, pretty dresses and two piece bandeau bathing suits!) .. as I packed my summer staples, I also had to pack bold color pieces... I mean it was only appropriate! So I made sure to throw my fave bold colored pieces into my suitcase because I knew the Maui backdrop would be the perfect complement. 

As someone who has always had a tanned skin complexion, I've been more drawn to wearing brighter, bolder, fun colored pieces ever since I can remember! I guess it just made me feel like my skin would stand out against those pretty hues like coral, teal, and neon yellow or chartreuse. 
There's always a color like neon yellow/chartreuse that's my go-to color for any pick-me-up-day!

What's your fave bold color and how do you show off that color in your wardrobe?
