Since summer is one of my favorite seasons- aside from fall- I thought putting a summer wish list for you guys on Polyore would be both fun and helpful ( helpful for those of you who have asked me "what should I pack for vacation?" or "what should I buy for summer"...etc. ) I know the whole neon/bright color thing was extremely on trend this season, but for me, I think buying earthtones/warm/neutral colors will benefit you down the line more than buying trendy pieces with bold/neon colors. For one, it's easier to mix and match with your existing wardrobe and two, it looks more effortless.
Tips: -Buy a chambray/denim button up to wear over your bathing suit instead of a cover-up.... Tie a knot for a fun, sexy look with cut off shorts! Try this one, or thisone. - A two piece strapless bathing suit will get you an even tan and motivate you to work on that tummy! A pretty floral print is always a go-to for me because you can mix it with a solid bottom or vice versa. Try this floral suit or this one. - A Panama hat is such a key item for summer! It's refreshing and makes all your summer looks look that much more put together; wear it with your bathing suit or with your day outfit! Try this one here or this one. - Strappy leather sandals are perfect for all summer wear- skinnys, dresses, shorts, skirts. Relax your feet for summer! Trytheseor these. - Simple jewelry; stacked up thin rings and leather collars are perfect for layering.
What does your summer wish list look like? Make sure to follow me on Polyvore here, so you can keep up with all my collages like the one above! xx
Dress: H&M | Jeans (DIY rips) : A&F | Heels: Madewell | Bag: Alexander Wang |
Cuff: Gabriela Artigas
Channeling my inner Nicole Richie- I don't know why I instantly felt like this
would be something she would wear.
Decided to be a bit more daring (and funky) and wear this dress over a favorite pair
of old jeans of mine. Always liked dresses over jeans (obviously only when it works)- it's
just different and makes me feel unique. These jeans are from my high school days and I've kept them
because they've turned out to have such a cool wash after all these years and also 'cuz I haven't been
able to find a fit like these anymore. The ripped holes were a total unplanned DIY- my first day of my
senior year, I wore these jeans as my back-to-school outfit and I was so excited to show them off
to all my friends... except that excitement didn't last very long! I would catch the school (yellow) bus
every morning and for my first day back my mom dropped me off across the street instead of right in front of the bus stop. So as I got dropped off, I was crossing the street and somehow, my bag that had long straps got tangled with my feet and fell so embarrassingly (felt like it was in slow motion), sliding through almost half of the cross street landing on my knees (and scraping them) and having all my stuff/books fall all over the street. It was epic; not only was it the busiest time in the morning where everyone is going to work and school but all the people at the bus stop and red light witnessed such a terrible fall. As soon as I got myself together, all I could notice were my ripped jeans!!
I was so bummed, i thought " Oh, no! I just got these! It's my first day back at school and my jeans
are ripped!" It ended up working out in my favor, because everyone at school loved my jeans and
the ripped holes- everyone started ripping their jeans soon after.
Just laying out on the grass after a long but fun day in Marina del Rey- wearing Albeit triangle necklace + Alexa Leigh heart necklace and Brandy Melville sweater.

A softer color palette sometimes can be a lot more refreshing than wearing any bold, in your face, colors. That's exactly what I did yesterday to cool me down from the crazy hot weather here in L.A. And omg, one more week till July ends? Whoa.. time does fly by when you're having fun!
Jacket: H&M | Tank: Moschino | Jeans: Zara | Sneakers: gifted Nike x Liberty | Belt: GAP | Watch: Diesel | Wallet: Louis Vuitton
I swear, everytime I wear sneakers like these (not Converse), it brings me back to my high school days.
It was definitely the cool thing to wear and I was guilty of it! (in a good way of course!)
So funny to think how I would style these sneakers back in the day and how I wear them now-
my style has evolved but my love for it hasn't.
I paired it with jeans this time for a more casual, everyday look and because the weather was chilly in the evening! Felt a little tomboyish but it's good to switch things up sometimes, no?
How was your style in high school? Any funny stories?
Peplum everything has been seen everywhere, and to be quite honest with you.. not sure I was a fan of it. It's a little too feminine for my particular style/taste, but since wearing my black Myne peplum dress recently( last seen here) I 've gained a little love for peplum- I just have to dress it down a lot for it not to be "too feminine" but more laid-back casual instead. This blouse though is darling- it is striped (my fave, duh!) so it was the perfect balance of feminine and cool, add some trousers rolled up and you've got yourself a look that can worn to multiple settings (just switch out the shoes; converse, flats, heels, sandals!)
Was waiting for Friday to come around because I was excited to getaway for the weekend and soak in some rays, dip in the pool and spend quality time with my favorite people.
We're off to Palm Springs later today for the whole weekend- to celebrate my sister's birthday!-
and I can't wait! Much needed getaway!
Some of the pieces I will be bringing along with me to PS- how rad are those OneTeaspoon shorts? ah! love! <3 (thanks ShopPR girls!)
I'm off to finish packing; but follow me and my adventures in palm springs via my
instagram! (@sincerely_juless) for constant updates!
Edit: Sorry for the wrong info on this dress! I got so many emails regarding this dress... and I accidentally said it was from Cameo, but it's by FindersKeepers!
This dress is not only comfy, but the cool print definitely screams "california dreaming"- major swoon!
(my heart belongs to california!)
Since I just got back from Palm Springs, I thought I'd continue the palm trees, summer theme
and throw on this number... it was perfect to keep me looking fresh and chic throughout the day!
Was kickin' myself in the butt yesterday after I left Manhattan Beach because I can't believe
I hardly visit this beach. Seriously, it's become my instant fave. I usually opt for Santa Monica or Malibu, (which are nice, but are gettin' a bit played out) so yesterday I thought I'd check something else. I hadn't visited in a while so laying out in the warm sand all day was definitely what I enjoyed the most. Sat next to this awesome pier that called for an impromptu photo shoot and couldn't believe
no one was under it capturing any moments...tsk, tsk- oh well, it was even better for me!
My girl Lauren from HonestlyWTF, was hanging by the beach too (she lives in Manhattan, lucky!) and sent me a quick email to meet up- unfortunately I saw the email too late.. but now I know I can
just walk to her place- totally gives me a reason to go back!
p.s- how amaze is this bronzy knitted top/sweater? Pretty amaze.
Simple, clean and the perfect color palette with an amazing print clutch is the kind of look that makes me want to live in it all week long. Sure, the shorts are short, but hey!- I'm young and it's summer- so there's no rules.... atleast for me. This blouse from Lush (thanks to my bff, Jadene) has been a staple that pretty much looks great with all things summery! Oh and did you see on their website? I modeled their lookbook a few months back with my girlRaych- it was so much fun and the Lush team was a pleasure to work with! Remember this blouse from them? i love their stuff. Hi Ericka! :)
Off to the recording studio to record some stuff in spanish! Ah! xo
As much as I don't wear dresses, I wish that I would especially with pieces that looked like this easy, breezy Cameo one. They're perfect for 1) Looking put together 2) saving you time ( you don't have to worry about really styling/putting an outfit together, just throw on the dress and you're good to go!) and 3) switching out your shoes for a different look from day to night.
It's Monday, and you know what that means! It's my fav day of the week and it's a fresh new start to get started on something you've been holding' off to do... so get inspired and do it! xx
This dress deserved to be shown off at the neck and shoulder area, so it was only appropriate to wear
my hair in a pony tail... plus the 90+ degree weather was the perfect reason to not worry about hair down my shoulders. The citrusy color and print definitely stood out with my crazy tan I have going on ( that's the result of hanging by the pool and beach too much!) The white RM purse was the right touch
to put the whole look together- definitely screams Summer Lovin'.
xx
In other news, new tees are finally out! Make sure to check them out and
The rose one is definitely my favorite- it's so delicate and pretty and the watercolor effect really makes the print that much more cooler. I'll be wearing it with a chain statement necklace, rolled up sleeves and skinny jeans!- with bold pink lips!
It was such a fun shoot; the weather was perfect, the locations were spot on
and the team was easy to work with... which always makes it that much more exciting!
She wanted me to style and model her Fall 2012 lookbook, which I was thrilled about!
We shot all over Downtown LA and we had the best time doing it.
The collection consists of pretty knits, cool leather jackets and skirts/shorts! Everything kinda
mixes and matches! They're the perfect pieces for this upcoming fall.
Above are some of my favorite shots from the photoshoot; the whole idea of us working together was to have a street style look to the photoshoot/lookbook, much like personal style blogs.
Hence, working with me!
Hope you guys enjoy this collaboration + photoshoot and
